Job Title: Digital Inclusion Worker (35 hours) per week Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm (flexible working and some evening and weekend working may be required as agreed with management) 

Responsible to: Business Development Manager 

Remuneration: £26,000 plus 5% Pension contribution 

Fixed Term: 3 year contract with the possibility of an extension [funding dependent] 

Cranhill Development Trust (CDT) is a community-based organisation dedicated to promoting the wellbeing of residents by addressing various societal challenges such as health-related issues, poverty, social exclusion, and more. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as a Digital Inclusion Worker. The primary purpose of this role is to increase digital skills within the local community, integrate digital technologies into existing CDT classes and projects, and provide one-to-one digital support to individuals at all skill levels. 


The Digital Inclusion Worker will collaborate with CDT Business Development Manager to develop and deliver digital Inclusion services throughout the organisation. The role aims to enhance the digital skills of community members, thereby contributing to improved health, wellbeing, and socioeconomic outcomes. Key responsibilities include: 

  • Providing one-to-one digital support to individuals at all skill levels. 
  • Integrating digital technologies into existing CDT classes and projects. 
  • Collaborating with the Business Development Manager to achieve key outcomes related to improved health, wellbeing, and community engagement. 
  • Offering training programs and workshops to enhance digital literacy. 
  • Working with external agencies and partners to expand digital inclusion. 

Main duties and responsibilities: 

  • Deliver one-to-one digital sessions to individuals, catering to their specific needs and skill levels. 
  • Integrate digital tools and technologies into existing CDT programs and initiatives. 
  • Collaborate with the Business Development Manager to develop and implement digital inclusion strategies. 
  • Assess community needs and resources related to digital literacy and access. 
  • Provide training to individuals participating in CDT programmes. 
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of digital Inclusion initiatives. 
  • Maintain accurate records of digital Inclusion activities and outcomes using CDT database ‘Upshot’ 
  • Collaborate with the IT maintenance company to maintain and improve CDT digital systems. 
  • Stay up to date with digital trends, tools, and resources to enhance service delivery. 
  • Represent CDT in external meetings and events related to digital inclusion. 




  • Experience in delivering digital Inclusion and training to individuals from diverse backgrounds. 
  • Knowledge of digital tools and technologies, including proficiency in MS Office applications. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Strong organisational and time management skills. 
  • Commitment to the vision, mission and values of CDT. 


  • Familiarity with welfare Inclusion systems and community resources. 
  • Experience in integrating digital technologies into community programmes. 
  • Understanding of digital inclusion principles and best practices. 
  • Experience working with volunteers and community organisations.
