Soap Making

The Cabin, our community shop is a lovely little hub where people feel at ease. Customers know our staff and volunteers and we know them.

We offer good quality stock products including fruit & veg, everyday groceries, household cleaning products and much more whilst keeping prices low.

Fill your own tubs, buying products such as rice, pastas, grains, herbs and spices is helping in the reduction of packaging.

Our Meal in a bag is exactly what it says, ingredients and a recipe in a bag to take away and cook at home.

Working closely with our community garden allows us to use fresh veg and herbs from the garden especially in the summer months.

We also make our own soap and bath bombs on the premises keeping costs low to pass the savings on to the community, allowing everyone to have a lovely bath time treat.

As the Cabin Community Shop is part of Cranhill Development Trust we can sign post customers to other services the trust provides.

Community shops are an effective mechanism for safeguarding essential retail outlets in areas with little or no other retail shops and a poor public transport, but they also have wider social, economic and environmental benefits.

Community shops particularly benefit those who are disadvantaged by lack of personal transport, limited physical mobility, and those seeking employment or volunteer opportunities. They engage large numbers of the community and stimulate social activity and community cohesion.

Our opening hours are Monday to Friday 10am to 4pm.
