Holiday Programme

Our fantastic family programmes are delivered over the mid-term holiday breaks, and are parent led, with consultation and engagement from the local families to plan and coordinate the running of the programme. We use creative and fun ways of engaging with the families, including health and well-being workshops, clay modelling, baby music classes, arts and crafts and various other workshops all in which parents and children are encouraged to work and learn together.

Current sessions:

February mid-term break – 3 days, 10am-3pm

Summer Holidays 18 days (3 days per week)

October Break – 3 days, 10am-3pm

Families get the opportunity to go on an outdoor trip each term. This can be a fantastic opportunity to spend time together as a large group. We have lots of great feedback from our previous family programme.

All sessions include a nutritious and healthy breakfast, lunch and with healthy snacks and fruit provided. These sessions are well attended, and our families love getting involved with the planning of the programming too.

What families have said about the programme:

“I have attended the programme for a few years and this year was one of the best. The staff pulled out all stops to make it the best for children and parents/carers, especially after the difficult time with lockdown, it was great to see happy children.”

“This was our first year attending the development trust and me and both my kids had a great time, whether on a trip or playing in the gardens at the trust. They have both asked if they can go again next year! Thank you to everyone involved from funders to staff to volunteers!”

My son was born just before lockdown, he was really shy and struggled with social situations. Attending CDT summer club, really help bring him out of his shell and boast his confidence, and he made loads of new friends, as did I. Thanks to everyone involved.
