Digital Services & Support

At CDT, we’re here to make technology feel less confusing and more accessible for everyone in our community. Thanks to the support of the Virgin Money Foundation, who fund digital inclusion projects across the UK, we are one of the fortunate organisations selected to receive funding to employ a dedicated Digital Worker. This support allows us to offer personalised, one-to-one guidance across a wide range of digital needs and technology stacks. Whether someone needs help learning office applications, understanding their device, getting online safely, or exploring new skills like programming, we provide friendly, patient support tailored to each individual. Our goal is to help people build confidence, stay connected, and fully benefit from the opportunities the digital world has to offer β€” all at a pace that suits them.

We may also be able to support you with getting online by supplying a device or issuing out a sim card for data, calling and text messages. These aren’t guaranteed and are subject to availability but if it’s something you or someone you are referring might benefit from then get in touch and we can talk about it further.

One-to-One Digital Support

Our one-to-one digital support is tailored to each individual’s needs, interests, and goals. Funded by Virgin Money to help tackle digital exclusion, we offer personalised guidance across a wide range of digital skills and technology challenges. This includes help with learning office applications, getting to grips with smartphones and laptops, staying safe online, understanding different software platforms, and developing skills in areas.

Support also covers essential online tasks such as completing e-visa applications, filling in online forms, managing accounts, accessing services, and troubleshooting everyday device problems. We work with individuals at their own pace, helping them build confidence, stay connected, and make the most of the digital tools that support modern life.

Photography Course

Each year, we try to host a six-week photography course delivered in partnership with Glasgow Kelvin College. The course introduces the core principles of photography, including camera basics, composition, lighting, and what makes a strong, engaging photo. It’s designed for beginners and anyone looking to build confidence behind the camera.

We require a minimum of eight participants for the course to run, and sessions are delivered in a friendly, supportive environment. By the end, learners leave with a solid understanding of photographic theory and the skills to take better, more intentional photographs.
